Had the same thought as Data Dog. It's the only time the brothers can feel like men and let the testosterone flow. -Leslie-

I molested the bees & lost
by nuthouse escapee ina week ago i was mowing the grass with a push mower and accidently mowed over a ground bee/wasp nest.
got stung several times.
thought it was black flies biting my ankles until they got up inside my shorts and got me twice on one finger.

Yes Cofty, it refers to a kingdom song about bees being molested. Song=Funny, Stings=Not Funny
Thanks Tal, they are still itchy. I will speak to my family Dr. when I go for my physical about whether or not an epi-pen would be a good idea. I got stung about 4 years ago and had the same symptoms except this time I had the confusion. I read where it can progress to a worse reaction. Looked up some natural bee repellent on line and will try that.
Beware! This is the time of year when bees are most agressive.

Watched it as a kid. Loved it. Had a major crush on Capt. Kirk.
LOL @ the "expendable" crew member, always knew the never seen before crew member was going to be toast before it was over.
Bones: "Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor not an Escalator"
Spock: When he was going through Pong Phar.(sp?)
Kept trying to get my hair into the style of Yeoman (think her name was Janice?)
When it went into reruns my kids watched it. Can't believe it was so loooong ago -Leslie-

A week ago I was mowing the grass with a push mower and accidently mowed over a ground bee/wasp nest. Got stung several times. Thought it was black flies biting my ankles until they got up inside my shorts and got me twice on one finger. Finally outran the little buggers and had to go to the hospital. So far I have been fortunate. I get numb lips, gums, & tongue but throat doesn't close. My hands turn purple. This time I was also very confused by the time my friend got me to the hospital. I have to be more careful now.
SO IF YOU SHOULD DECIDE YOU MIGHT WANT TO MOLEST THE BEES-----DON'T!
(this thread is for you Keyser Soze, I know how fascinated you are with bees being molested LOL)

Fall Fairs/Harvest Festivals & Elder Killjoy
by nuthouse escapee inwhen my children were young my ex and i looked forward to going to the fall fair.
we chose a rural fair as it was more interesting.
there were cattle shows, a chicken barn with all breeds of chickens, and of course all the displays of fruits and vegetables.

Splash: agree Fairs are enjoyable & like I said, we went anyway. I just thought the elder was a total a**.
Designs: I think I would have liked to introduce that elder to the giant pumpkin--head first! lol
Balaamsass: Same here, we eventually adopted a standard answer when asked what we had done the weekend before or were planning to do. "Nothing Much" became the best response. Beats saying none of your @#%&*# business.
Wing Commander: Some people are miserable and aren't happy unless they rain on your parade
Panhandlegirl: Good for your SIL. I won 1st prize in the women's nail hammering contest one year. That was cool.
Blondie: thanks for sharing that info on Sukkot. I checked that out on Wiki the other day. What I found interesting is the description given to the festival (as stated in your post) that it was/is considered the most unreservedly joyful celebration so much so that it is referred to as The Season of Rejoicing.
So as usual we have elders giving personal viewpoints. Way to go for cherry-picking scriptures.Leslie

The generation that saw the end of the Vietnam War will never die!
by life is to short inso what will be the new light on having such a young gb member?
will it be that obviously jesus clearly meant that evidently, plainly, unmistakably and with out a doubt (matt 24:34) that this generation that overlapped with the generation that saw ww1 and would overlap with the generation that saw ww2 which would than clearly overlap with the ones who saw the end of the vietnam war will never die.. this new gb is younger then i am and i just barley remember the end of the vietnam war.. how do the older ones keep believing this?
how can someone who is in their 60's to 80's swallow this?

LITS, good topic. The R&F won't notice or connect the significance of the newbie being so young, and those that notice will be afraid to say anything........and the beat goes on...........-Leslie-

Dental Problems are interesting
by Terry inmy appointment with the oral surgeon was this morning at 10 a.m.. the tooth i'd cracked had to be tended to.
i knocked the whole top off by eating a cube of ice.
(yes, the word "moron" comes to mind..:).

The horrors of dental neglect. 3 years ago had an absessed upper molar, pain came and went until it didn't go away. 9 months later it got so bad I had to get it pulled. Found out after it was pulled that the roots went into the sinus cavity and the floor of the sinus was pretty much non-existent. Needless to say everytime I drank anything after the extraction, it would run out my nose. Wasn't allowed to blow my nose and had to sneeze with my mouth open. Took 3 months to finally close and another 6 months for gum to become solid enough not to break through again. Learned my lesson. Go regularly for check-up & cleaning. Leslie

Fear of discussing doubts
by KingAgag inwhen i was having doubts about being a jehovah's witness, i was terrified to talk about them to anyone.
i knew that having a different opinion than the watchtower was 'wrong'.. i wrote about my experience here - http://www.jehovahswitnessblog.com/real-life-experiences/fear-discussing-doubts/.
please share your experiences too!.

Before leaving I had expressed doubts to my ex, all he said was "It scares me to hear you talk like that". Finding someone on the outside who understands what it REALLY was like as a JW is difficult. If you can find a friend who will listen and who wants to understand what makes you tick the following is something I found to help me.
Something that worked for me was to print out some of the experiences that ex-JW's posted on the forum and the outcome they suffered. I also shared articles posted regarding doctrinal changes and flip-flops over the years. Printed out pics of WT. articles showing the horror of Armageddon for all who didn't live up to the standards of being a JW. I have shared these with my best friend and she told me that she knew the religion was weird but she had no idea how evil it was.
She now hates the cult as much as I do and plans to give any JW's that come to her door an earful!-Leslie-

What Did You Do As A Witness That Could Have Gotten You Into Trouble Had The Elders Ever Known About It?
by minimus inmy elder buddy and i would frequent strip clubs when we wanted to.. a few friends knew i enjoyed clubbing and music concerts and i seldom ever spoke of my private social life to others.. i know many jws, including elders, that drank excessively but that wasn't considered too big a deal..

Convinced my parents to let me sleep over at my worldly girlfriend's house. She set us up for dates. Went to an R-rated drive in movie (I was 15 & baptized). Didn't watch the movie. -Leslie-
